People ask you questions – relatives, friends, colleagues, customers and even competitors. But when a mentor or coach asks, your response will give away your entire mindset and summarize your whole learning experience.
In a learning experience, the direction of questions is expected to be from bottom up. That is, from the learner to the life coach. But sometimes too, questioning can change direction. The leader can ask the associate. The wisdom is for the evolving leader to know that the purposes are different and to know how to respond to a senior’s question rather than run with into the error of assumption. Great, intelligent and busy leaders view an associate’s actions based on assumptions without clarifications as being presumptuous.
CHARACTERISTICS OF A MENTOR’S QUESTION
The mentor’s question(s) may be posed more than once. The associate’s consistent reply may affect the display of attitude from his life coach. When a mentor feels you know he is a helper of your purpose, his impartation juice pumps more in your direction.
Senior leaders respond to unmet needs, desires or goals by “acting-out” involuntarily. They betray their internal frustrations with emotional outbursts reminiscent of a toddler’s tantrum.I call this the LEADER’S TANTRUM.
The same respectable influential figure you revere suddenly gets angry at you and everyone, blaming, fuming and hopefully not, cursing. In one short breath that lasts only a minute, he has recalled sixty things you have done wrong and why YOU are now a pain. You wonder what the problem is. You try to explain but he shuts you up and then shuts you out. He rants at the top of his voice. Sometimes, he runs the risk of distorting the facts, blaming you for what is not your fault. And it can be sudden, unplanned and unexpected.
A leader’s tantrum is a CALL FOR HELP, reactively
WHAT A LEADER’S TANTRUM INDICATES
The summary of all executive act up is that the senior leader is not entirely happy and has unresolved work issues that have piled up. More specifically…
- He cannot (or is not) expressing his needs in CLEAR TERMS. Nonetheless, the associate being the respondent must understand there’s a need to be met.
- He’s not getting the RESULTS he desires.
- He wants urgent ASSISTANCE to share his workload.
- He expects someone to have ASSUMED responsibility.
- He feels RESTRICTED and desires to be free to handle other (higher) aspects of the corporate vision.
- He is OUT OF CONTROL, overwhelmed and losing direction; of course, this also affects the associate leader indirectly.
- He’s out of RHTYMN and wants to separate his person from the pressures of his work.
- He’s STRESSED and needs some help for the time being.
- For an insecure leader, he just needs MORE ATTENTION from you for a while!
Prolonged neglect of a leader’s tantrum is prolonged distraction to the associate’s productivity.
For those connected to the grace that flows on the platform of Prophetic Solutions, you have the additional spiritual privilege of being prayed for, no matter your denominational leaning. As we continue to wait on the Lord in prayers, He unveils His word for the season to His beloved.
THINGS WILL OPEN UP: This year, many things will open. Hence a lot of our prayers will address situations and experiences that need to open up. Issues that have defied solutions for so many years will change and receive shifts in the spirit with practical evidences of the Lord’s mercy.
FRUITFULNESS: As inspired, the Lord will visit many in Zion and confirm their hopes in Him. The shame of many years will be taken away. For some families, this will show in the area of fruitfulness as the Lord will open wombs, confirming with multiple births for the first time. In a family, a woman will rejoice with triplets. However, 2014 will be a year of difficulty for the ungodly.
ACCESS: Many serving God faithfully will enjoy His favour as He holds their hands and creates unusual opportunities to further career. Divine presence and empowerment will remove restrictions (Isaiah 45:1-3). A number of hearts will be stirred to move on to the platform of politics in 2014 and will enjoy heavens’ support.
DEBTS: A number of debts will receive relief but the debtors are to show faithfulness in fulfilling their obligations. This is what will provoke the divine intervention.
WAVE OF the SPIRIT:Long term goals that will be sustained for at least seven years will be inspired this year. A number of divine agendas that will start this year will span the next seven years in succession. Where very big ideas are inspired, our faith should not be discouraged to believe.
BE PRAYERFUL:Those handling very delicate situations would have to be more prayerful this season. Like broken egg that cannot be put back together, consistent prayers this year is very necessary to uphold such delicate situations till the Lord resolves the issues by His mercy.
ATTITUDE IN HOMES: As we seek the Lord to touch the hearts of others, particularly in our families, the Lord will pour down righteousness and bring forth salvation. Many with bad attitudes will change and peace will reign in homes.
Personally, it’s about a change in form and character. To experience this, engage the First Law of Correspondence: “First within then without”.
Certain factors must come into play to attain Personal Transformation:
THE SPIRIT: On the inside of each one of us, there’s something bigger, greater and more magnificent than what we exhibit and that’s what the scriptures refer to as ANOTHER MAN. It represents the next level for our personalities. Impartation with the Spirit of God supplies the speed, wisdom and understanding needed to move into that Next Level.
“Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man” – 1 Samuel 10:6, NKJV

-INFLUENCE refers to WHO or WHAT causes you to CHANGE .
-It involves change in character, behavior, dressing, speaking, LEARNING, attitude, and so on.
-Your influence may be PERSON or a PLACE.
